IISER Pune, India invites applications for Teaching Fellow Position

                                         

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed Ministry of Education in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. The Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the Teaching Fellow Position purely on a temporary and contractual basis. 

Position:  Teaching Fellow Position

Project Title: “Molecular Biology Training Program for School and Undergraduate Students”

Funding Agency: Private Agency

Tenure:  Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Minimum educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Life Sciences. 

Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis but are yet to complete thesis defence can also apply.

Experience: Candidate must have extensive experience during Ph.D. in working with basic molecular biology techniques like PCR, cloning, DNA / RNA extraction, protein related work etc. Prior teaching experience, although not mandatory, is preferred.

Job Requirements: Incumbent is expected to conduct Molecular Biology workshops for school and college students. This will involve both theory and hands-on experimentation. Therefore, the candidates must be fluent in English and have excellent theoretical as well as practical knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques like PCR, cloning, DNA / RNA extraction, protein related work etc.

Fellowship:  Rs.  52,000/- 

Age Limit: Not more than 45 years.

Venue:  Seminar Room No. 24, First floor, Main Building, IISER, Pune, Dr. Homi Bhabha Road, Pune - 411008. 
There will be a written test in the morning session. Candidates shortlisted through the written test will then be interviewed in the post-lunch session.

• Mark sheets and certificates (starting from 10th onward) regarding educational qualification
