THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY HYDERABAD invites applications from Indian nationals only for the Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Chemical Engineering purely on a contract basis.

Position:  Postdoctoral Fellow(One)

Principal Investigator:  Prof. Kishalay Mitra

Title of the Project: Application of Deep learning techniques for Robust Optimal Design of Integrated Water networks towards sustainable water management in Petroleum Refineries

Minimum Qualification: Ph.D. in Operations Research, Optimization, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Desirable Qualifications: • Expertise in mathematical modeling and multi-objective optimization • Experience with deep learning & AI techniques • Strong mathematical background in Nonlinear Programming (NLP) & Mixed-Integer Optimization (MILP/MINLP) • Experience with large-scale optimization • Hands-on experience with computational modeling of water networks • Knowledge of industrial water management • Experience with GAMS/CPLEX • Proficiency in MATLAB coding

Fellowship: Rs. 58000/- per month

Selection: 

  • This is a rolling advertisement; the PI will evaluate and shortlist the applications received every 15 days until suitable candidates are selected. 
  • The PI and the selection committee will shortlist candidates based on eligibility and fit for the advertised position.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview date and time.
  • Candidates with prior relevant experience will be given preference. Joining will be immediate after selection. 
  • The position will be kept open if no suitable candidate is found.
