Pay Scale

• Assistant Professor (Grade I): Level 12, Cell 1 of Pay Matrix
• Minimum Basic Pay: ₹1,01,500 + HRA + Allowances
• Approximate Gross Salary: ~₹1,62,905 per month (excluding HRA)

• Assistant Professor (Grade II): Level 10, Cell 8 of Pay Matrix  

• Approximate Gross Salary: ~₹1,11,750 per month (excluding HRA)

Eligibility Criteria

• Assistant Professor (Grade I):
•  Ph.D. with First Class or equivalent in preceding degree
• At least 3 years of Industrial/Research/Teaching experience (excluding Ph.D.)
• Consistently good academic record
• Age preferably below 35 years

• Assistant Professor (Grade II):

  • Ph.D. with First Class or equivalent in preceding degree

  • Consistently good academic record

  • Age preferably below 30 years

Nature of Appointment

• Grade I: Initially for 5 years on contract, with assessment for promotion to Associate Professor (tenure-track). If not promoted, a maximum 2-year extension may be given.
• Grade II: Appointed on 3-year contract. Will not be automatically regularised after completion. Certain benefits (like LTC, medical reimbursement) will not be applicable.
