IISER Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India invites applications for Regular Faculty Positions

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati is a premier Autonomous Institute of National Importance established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for the promotion of high-quality science education and research. 

The Institute invites online applications from Indian nationals, including eligible Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) having excellent academic record and relevant work experience for the posts of Professor and Assistant Professor in areas of Computer Science, Earth and Climate Sciences, Economics & Statistics and Mathematics.

# 01 vacancy is purely a Lien Vacancy, being notified against an incumbent holding lien on this position.

$ 04 vacancies are reserved for persons with benchmark disability, and these vacancies shall be filled from SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/UR candidates through horizontal reservation. Of the four vacancies reserved for candidates belonging to the category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), one vacancy each is reserved for candidates belonging to the following categories of PwBD. 

Details of Scale of Pay, Educational Qualification, and Experience:

Professor	Academic Pay Level-14A    (Entry pay ₹. 1,59,100/-)	PhD with a first class in the preceding degree, with very good academic record throughout in addition to proven track record of outstanding research ability and proven leadership skills.   Minimum of ten years of relevant post-PhD research and teaching experience from India  (or) abroad, of which, at least four years have to be at the level of Associate Professor from Institutes of Eminence / Institutes of National Importance like IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, Central Universities, reputed State Universities,  National level Research Institutes / Laboratories etc.
Assistant Professor	Academic Pay Level-12   (Entry pay ₹.1,01,500/-)	PhD with a first class in the preceding degree with very good academic record.   At least three years of relevant post-PhD experience in teaching / research /  industry.

PRIORITY TEACHING AND RESEARCH AREAS: 

Computer Science

The applicants must be capable of teaching basic Computer Science courses in the following areas: Computer Organizations and Architecture, Programming and Data Structure, Operating Systems, Algorithms, DBMS, and Computer Networks.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML), Data Structure, Data Mining and Deep learning.

Research Expertise from among the following various areas:

Artificial Intelligence (AI)- Machine Learning (ML) and its applications, in Computer Vision (CV);

Deep Learning in CV; Natural Language Processing (NLP); Image Analysis; Health care; Biometrics Recognition; Remote Sensing; Knowledge Graph, Distributed systems and cyber security; Cryptography; Data Analytics and IOT; Multimodal and Fair Learning; Signal Processing, Image Processing, Information Retrieval, Data Mining, Data Science.

Economics & Statistics

The applicants must be capable of teaching various basic and advanced Economics and Statistics in one or several of the areas indicated below: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Political Economy, Probability, and Biostatistics

Research Expertise from among the following various areas:

• Macroeconomics,

• Econometrics, Applied Econometrics

Earth & Climate Sciences

The applicants must be capable of teaching various courses in Earth & Climate Sciences with Research expertise in any of the Climate Sciences, Seismology, Geosciences, Metamorphic Petrology, Structural Geology, and Meteorology.

Mathematics

The applicants need to be capable of teaching any of the following courses in Mathematical & Statistical Sciences with Research expertise in: Partial Differential Equations; Probability Theory; Stochastics, Probability and Statistics Analysis, Financial Maths, Biostatistics.
